Attendees will learn about the amazing grounds outside of the historic site, including the Fishway Dam, then head inside for a guided orientation of "Water in Our World" and watch a 15-minute film about the buildings important role in Philadelphia's history. On Saturday's, after the 10am tour, or before the 12:30pm tour, participants are welcome to attend Let's Go Outdoors' FREE 30-minute "Neighborhood Explorers" program. On Sunday's, the Explorer program will happen at noon, before the 1pm tour.
If registering for a Fairmount Water Works Family Tour, keep in mind the following:
Let's Go Outdoors aims to bring families together for environmental education tours and/or outdoor learning activities. Therefore, on behalf of the Philadelphia Water Department and Fairmount Water Works, we host Family Tours of the Fairmount Water Works.
Tours are held various Saturday's from 10:00am-11:00am and 12:30pm-1:30pm. Also, one Sunday per month, we host a tour from 1pm-2pm. If you'd like to arrange a private group family tour, please note that in the comments section and we will contact you to discuss.
